Delete your account

Deleting your ClimbNorth account permanently removes your data from our systems. This page explains exactly what is removed, what may be retained in anonymized form, how to request deletion, and how long it takes.

What gets deleted

When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:

• Your authentication record (email, password hash, and any linked Apple or Google identifier)
• Your profile (username, height, home gym, theme preference, profile visibility)
• Your profile photo from Supabase Storage
• Every session you have logged, including the grades, notes, and dates within those sessions
• Your friendships and any pending friend requests
• Your push-notification tokens
• Your gym visit history and favourites
• Any other data tied to your user identifier

What’s retained (anonymized) and why

A small amount of data is retained without your user identifier, so it cannot be traced back to you:

• Aggregate gym visit counts. We may keep a running total of how many visits a given gym has received across all users. After deletion, your individual visits no longer exist, but their contribution to that gym’s total may remain.
• Aggregate session counts. A similar total may be retained at the gym or country level for product analytics.

These records contain no email, username, profile data, or session detail. They cannot be used to identify you and cannot be re-linked to you in the future.

We may also retain limited records where legally required (for example, to comply with a lawful request or to resolve a billing dispute), but ClimbNorth does not currently process payments and has no scenarios where this applies.

Two ways to request deletion

1. In the app

Open Settings, then Account, then Delete account. Confirm the prompt. (This in-app flow is planned and will ship with a future release. Until then, use the email option below.)

2. By email

Send a message to climbnorthapp@gmail.com with the subject Delete my account. The email should come from the address associated with your ClimbNorth account so we can verify the request. We do not require a reason.

How long it takes

Deletion is processed within fourteen days of receiving your request. You will receive a confirmation email when it is complete.

Push tokens for your account are revoked immediately so you stop receiving notifications right away. The full database and storage purge runs within the 14-day window.

After deletion

After your account is deleted, the action cannot be undone. Your data is unrecoverable. There are no backups we can restore from on your behalf. If you decide to use ClimbNorth again in the future, you’ll need to create a new account from scratch.
